we finally got some real snow! and it lasted all of... the morning. i woke up this morning to go to work, and we had a nice thick covering of snow. it would have been perfect if only i could have stayed home and played and not had to worry about driving to work. as it turned out, i was the first brave soul from our neigborhood to venture out onto the roads, and the only person in all of asheville going towards black mountain at 6 a.m. since i had no tracks to follow, i drove about 20 mph in the center of the interstate the entire way there, and made it the 11 miles in about forty minutes. slow.... and... steady... we had beautiful snow showers off and on all day, and lots of snow on the ground at work. by the time i got home it was completely melted but still coming down. i guess the ground is too warm for it to really stick. that's okay, because all my tulips are starting to pop up and i was worried about the little buds making it to their first spring. and it was great for stig, who has been grumbling about the extreme lack of snow this winter, and for adella, who got to play in the white cold stuff again. we didn't get anywhere near the record setting snowfall up north, but it was enough to get out and play around in... olive and mia love the snow too! adella's just got some remnants of her cold, so we are going to resume normal activity again this week, starting with knitting group tomorrow morning.... i have many many things on my knitting plate right now. i need to do some prioritizing before i start getting overloaded with delusions of knitting grandeur. good night everyone - i have to get back upstairs before 'desperate housewives' starts! and gray's antaomy - they really left us hanging last week. what will happen? will meredith blow up herself and the hospital? nah... i doubt it. (but i have to watch to see for sure!)
