we took advantage of the beautiful weather today by going to the nature center (see link at left, if desired) with rachel and beth. beth just found out she is having a little boy (!) so i will add her onto the baby bootie list. more on knitting later. here are a few pics from the nature center. it is always a favorite outing for us - not only the animals, but it's such a nice place to get out and walk. perfect for a day like today... in knitting news, i'm running into problems with the baby booties. the main problem is, i'm using a heavier yarn than most delicate little bootie patterns call for, so i can't get the size right. see below: obviously, the hat is in the middle. i've made three booties - one is giant, one is tiny, and one is deformed. i'm going to give myself a break, and then hopefully a solution will present itself. meanwhile, i have quite a few other projects to finish. i'm thinking of doing this cardigan for the knitting olympics: 16 days from start to finish. can i do it? we'll see... adella's latest impossibly cute activity: this afternoon i was sitting at the table making one of my many lists, and adella came over to me and said, "mommy? play? me?" cutest. thing. ever. so we went out to her little kitchen and she fixed me some tea and microwaved me a little bite to eat.
