thursday in pictures...

blogger was down all day yesterday. so while i was planning an interesting post with fun stories from our day, i have since forgotten all of it. instead, i'll just post the pictures (that's what you're really after anyway, right?) i finally got smart enought to play around with some settings on the camera and discovered the black and white setting, which seems potentially boring but i love it. it fits perfectly with my 'all things vintage' kick lately. fast-forward to technicolor (actually it's the "vivid color" setting. i love it. why just be standard when you can be vivid?) bee balm is blooming! and the beautiful coreopsis and lavendar in the background... adella found the longest dandelion ever at the playground yesterday: and finally wore the apron top i knit for her a few months ago! new knitting! here's the cotton yarn i picked out to start a crazy log cabin blanket for adella: and my own new sweater, just cast on yesterday: i got some super-soft yarn - a merino, alpaca, and silk blend - and it feels SOOO nice after knitting with cotton yarn so much lately. anyway, if all goes as planned, it will soon look like this. except plum-colored instead of red. and maybe long sleeved instead of short. i just can't see myself wearing a short-sleeved sweater, but you never know. okay - that's all for now! i have to go tear adella away from Dora the Explorer so we can get out to enjoy the beautiful day!
