yesterday was a super-fun-filled day for me and adella. in the morning, we hosted a little pool party for a a few of adella's friends (and mine). we had bubbles, sidewalk chalk, toys, slides, pools, snacks, peach iced tea, and us mamas even managed to squeeze in some knitting in between chatting and chasing slippery two-year-olds. it was a beautiful day and we had a great time. sadly, i was too busy to remember to snap a few pictures. but with summer approaching, there will be many more pool parties and many more photo ops. after naptime and playing around the house for a few hours, we went to the Brew-N-View for dinner with amy and kyle and henry. the game room was full of kids and adella and henry ran around like mad for two hours. towards the end, adella could barely stand up she was so tired, but she refused to stop running. as you can imagine, this resulted in more than a few falls and bumps, none of which kept her down. no one can ever say she isn't resilient... today we're off to do gymnastics at the toddler gym time. the kids always have a blast, and we mamas have even been known to jump in the foam pit... **** this is the state of adella's room these days: notice the many blankets? at any given time, she has at least 5 animals tucked in and fast asleep. lately she's been getting upset when i turn the light on in her room, telling me, "light off, mommy! everybody sleeping! ssshhhh...." then she'll drag her step over to the lightswitch and turn it on, saying, "get up everybody!" it's a neverending game of sleep/wake-up. another favorite? taking pictures. i really want to get her one of those disposable digital cameras to take her own pictures. she carries her plastic camera around and (looking backwards through the lens) tells all her animals and toys to, "cheese!" so cute! i finally wore the bird skirt last night, and i had stig take a headless picture of me wearing it: here's my other halves, ready to go to dinner: oh - and, our farm box this week! check out all the goodies: the strawberries were gone about 2 minutes after i took this picture - they were the best strawberries ever! i really like getting the farm boxes so i can learn to cook new things, and of course feed my family healthier fresher food. yum!
