here were are!
long time, no posting... but we are all alive and well despite my lack of blogging lately. so let's see... where did i leave off? friday evening we babysat noah, the first part of another trade - this time for anniversary dinners. jess and anthony's anniversary is this week and me and stig have one coming up in a few weeks (!) so they'll be watching adella so we can go out to dinner for our 5 year celebration. by the way, if anyone is interested, i just read that wood is the traditional gift for 5 years of marriage. you know the address - start sending wood to us. firewood or lumber will do just fine, but a nice solid wood queen-sized bedroom suite would be better. (just kidding - i hope everyone knows that.) so the weekend was usual. i worked and adella and stig piddled around town and had a fun time. yesterday we went to amy and henry's for knitting. henry's grandparents got him a giant inflatable bounce house for his birthday! wow - what fun they had! (no, this is not a hint to adella's grandparents. no giant toys please - our house is small enough already) the kids jumped and played while we sat and knitted. adella found a cool place to take a break... i FINALLY finished the sweater that i have had in the works for almost a year now! right, just in time for summer. but - it's done! it's blocking now, so very soon there will be headless model pictures to see. about halfway through our knitting time, an unexpected visitor dropped in: he seemed to come out of the tree and onto an unsuspecting beth before dropping onto our blanket, narrowly missing knitted goods. -and last night, stig and i went out to a movie! beth babysat adella while we saw the XMen movie. it was a good movie, but even better was being able to get out and do something together like we used to. beth said adella did awesome - she gave her a bath, played, read stories, and put her to bed. no problems! it's great to know that we might actually be able to start going out at night and letting other people put adella to sleep. and it is so nice to have such a good group of mamas to depend on, mamas who adella knows and trusts, and who we know and trust to take care of our baby! and adella woke up and told me she had fun with beth, so everything's good. this morning was co-op at fyffe's, so i dropped adella off and ran a million errands. aside from my list of to do's, i even managed to finally buy the replacement piece to our ice machine that had been out of commission for a year now. yay! fresh ice! and when i picked her up, she had a toilet-paper-roll shaker that she made, and i had a bag of farm yummies that amy brought me! fyffe also had a video from about 2 years ago when all the kids were wee little things, and we were actually eating potluck lunch at potluck, instead of chasing after the kids. they were all SO CUTE! adella had no teeth and dark dark hair, and huge big fat arms! i forgot what a chubber she was. adella had fun playing with her friends, and seems completely pooped now. will she nap today? we shall see... here she is, looking tired, but so cute: and i'll leave you with this: day 1
