FO and other knitting-related talk
here's my latest FO (that's finished object, for all you non-knitters). and okay, so it's not completely finished - it still needs a few buttons - oh, and it still needs to be blocked - but close enough.

suzy,
blocking is when you wet a knitted piece and gently stretch it and shape it into its' finished size/shape. sometimes it is not necessary. but sometimes, there are kinky stitches or warped edges or bumps or just plain wonky-looking things that need a little shaping.
blocking can't fix or disguise any major mistakes or anything that is totally deformed, but it helps give a project a more finished final result.
for the sweater, i had a few puckers i wanted to straighten out, and i stretched the whole thing out to make it a wee bit bigger!
