adella's napping now, after a sort-of rough knitting group this morning. the kids were a little cranky again today, and four cranky kids in a small house is hard. after a while the sun came out and started drying up the rain-soaked ground, so the kids moved outside and quickly recovered from the crankiness. sweater update: currently the sweater is tucked away in a bag in the closet. i'm mad at the sweater right now, so it's better if i don't even look at it. why? well, after the seaming was finished and the ends almost completely woven in, i tried it on and... it hurts! there is something not right with the neckline. the sweater fits, but it pulls in such a way that it is tight across my collarbone. make sense? i know it's wierd. the good news it i think it can be fixed. but i'm not ready right now. it needs to stay in the closet for a while. for now, i'm starting a herringbone stitch scarf using some super-soft nice yarn that lauren gave me for xmas - a cashmere, silk, and wool blend - SOOO NICE!! we got a big box of little people toys from pippi today! she always finds the greatest stuff at the thrift store... adella hasn't seen it yet, but i have it set up in the livingroom so she will see it right away when she wakes up from her nap. i can't wait! there's a schoolbus, a minivan, and bulldozer, a boat (maybe an ark?) and a big zoo with a ferris wheel. thanks pippi! adella is going to LOVE playing with this stuff! speaking of stuff, i've decided that adella needs a big sturdy bookshelf with cubby holes in her room to hold her many many many toys. i'm running out of space for them all! i had a shelf picked out but then i found out that it can't be shipped - we'd have to drive to the ikea in atlanta to pick it up. stig says he can build one, and i'm sure in theory he can, but will it ever actually get done? before she is a teenager? there are so many projects that we'd like to do around here, but never enought time. oh well... for now i'll just add it to the list.
